Several checkpoints have been placed in major thoroughfares in Metro Manila.
This, after President Rodrigo Duterte signed a proclamation of state of national emergency on account of lawless violence, following the deadly blast at the Roxas Night Market in Davao City that killed 14 people and injured more than 60 others.
The proclamation, which was signed by the President before he left for Laos to attened the ASEAN Summit, "commands the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines to "suppress all forms of lawless violence in Mindanao and prevent violence from spreading," Metro Manila included.
In the photos below, members of the Quezon City Police District Station 10 Community Precinct 2 placed a checkpoint along Timog Avenue near Tomas Morato on Monday evening, in response to the Duterte's proclamation.
